We have an alpha course starting this week at our church and I have been blown away by God’s grace to me as I have invited friends and people I’ve met to alpha.  It would be easy to think that I have some special gift or am particularly fabulous is this area.  I’m not.  No one can boast, Paul tells us in Ephesians, because saving is ALL God’s idea, it’s ALL his work. All we do is trust him enough to let him do it.

Let me encourage you this week to step out and invite someone to an alpha course near you, or church, or your small group… Trust him! Be bold! Take that step of faith. They might say yes, they might say no. They might say nothing and walk off! It really doesn’t matter what their answer is! But let me tell you – it’s so fun being part of God’s saving plan. It’s so exciting to watch him at work and join in. There’s no burden, no stress, no striving involved when Jesus is the one orchestrating it all.

Look at these verses again. You are exactly where God wants you to be, rubbing shoulders with the people he wants you to love. And what greater way to love someone than introduce them to the One who is love. Jesus. It’s always about Jesus. Watch what God can do when you start making Jesus your focus… It’s all his work…
